WHO WE ARE

The Dallas High Shoals Christian Social Ministry (DCM) began in the early 1980s with a simple mission: to make Christmas a little brighter for struggling families in the Dallas area. But it didn’t take long to realize the need in our community extended far beyond the holidays. In 1986, we officially became a nonprofit organization, rooted in faith and supported by the Dallas Ministerial Association, local churches, and compassionate individuals throughout our community.

Today, DCM proudly serves residents across Gaston County—including Dallas, High Shoals, Alexis, and Stanley. Through generous donations, community partnerships, and support from organizations like Second Harvest Food Bank, United Way, and local businesses, we help families facing difficult times with essential resources like food, hygiene supplies, and emergency support.

Whether it's keeping the power on for a senior, filling a pantry for a single mom, or offering a warm coat and a kind word to someone without a home, our mission is simple: to be a beacon of hope when it's needed most. And during the holiday season, we continue our tradition of Christmas assistance—making sure that no child wakes up to an empty tree.

Our Mission is to help those in need by providing food and financial assistance.
